there were only 5 candles on the cake...each represented 11 years..
double nickle is what i have heard 55 called.

well i had no insurance....
so am muddling thru the process of restoring and re-habbing
my home and my life.

i sang for hundreds of fire fighters
last night at their mess hall at the
fire camp headquaters in the fair
gournds here. my boots were burned
so i am not equipped to go on the
fire line...just as well, i guess.

lucky to have a motor home,
but i have 8 land partners
and only one has their home nhow.

I started this thread to wish a happy birthday then find out that maybe it is not that happy after all. Well Laurel,it may not be a very pleasant time even though it is your day but make your Birthday wish anyway and let your friends in on your wish. As Bruce said; " You have lots of friends here".

Well, Laurel, this is the strangest Happy Birthday I ever sent. On the bright side, you are alive and your pets and instruments are safe. On the other, you are a firefighter whose lost her home to the fire she was fighting. I'm in tears for you. There's some sort of terrible irony that a person who has 'put it on the line' to help others so often should lose so much while she was out helping others. You hang in. You have lots of friends here as you'll soon be finding out.
