Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: Little Hawk Date: 06 Aug 08 - 02:30 PM He's got contacts in downtown Chicago and nearby Cicero. Not to worry. He used to have an office in this famous old hotel, matter of fact, but they tore it down a few years back. Too bad... the Lexington Hotel |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,DV Date: 06 Aug 08 - 02:24 PM And Chongo's bank balance. The ladies also need to know if he is good at the bank for the hush money payments. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,DV Date: 06 Aug 08 - 02:22 PM John Edwards chased into the hotel bathroom this last week notwithstanding, enquiring potential female staff need to know. Hot monkey love has consequences, you know, and the ladies need to know who's paying, and if Chongo's name goes on the birth certificate. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: Little Hawk Date: 06 Aug 08 - 02:19 PM They're looking into it as we speak... |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,DV Date: 06 Aug 08 - 01:51 PM Yeah, but does Chongo's campaign offer progressive child care benefits? Hot monkey love, and all that. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: Peace Date: 06 Aug 08 - 01:32 PM "Chongo pays his male and female campaign staff EQUALLY." And with bananas at $.59 a pound, it ain't cheap! |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: beardedbruce Date: 06 Aug 08 - 01:30 PM No arguement here on that. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: Little Hawk Date: 06 Aug 08 - 01:24 PM Chongo pays his male and female campaign staff EQUALLY. More evidence that he is better presidential material than either McCain or Obama. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: Peace Date: 06 Aug 08 - 01:18 PM "Obama needs to make a sexism speech" Fer er agin? |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,DV Date: 06 Aug 08 - 10:55 AM No one has to take my word for it. Do a little online research, and you'll see most of the media has done at least one story on it during the primaries. There was a sudden streak of women hired after the primaries ended, and Obama decided he might need some women on the team to appease and pander successfully to women. Doesn't seem to be working though. I also read recently that Democratic women especially are concerned that Obama will flip on abortion. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,Jack the Sailor Date: 06 Aug 08 - 10:48 AM DV must be right. Samantha Powers worked for Obama for free. She musta dragged down the average pay for women right there. How dare she abandon DV's sense of selective morality about other people and follow her heart. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,DV Date: 06 Aug 08 - 10:40 AM And then makes speeches about pay equity! |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: alanabit Date: 06 Aug 08 - 10:40 AM I am sure Chongo can make a speech badly... |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,DV Date: 06 Aug 08 - 10:40 AM Obama also pays his female staffers less than the male staffers. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: Little Hawk Date: 06 Aug 08 - 10:32 AM Chongo also needs to make such a speech. Badly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: Emma B Date: 06 Aug 08 - 08:52 AM At least the Obama campaign was quick to distance the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee from this rap song by Ludacris in which Hillary is described as an 'irrelevant bitch' |
Subject: RE: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,DV Date: 06 Aug 08 - 08:06 AM Excellent idea, especially since his campaign is the first in many years not to have ANY women in leadership positions. Maybe that's how Michelle keeps her man safe from temptation, eh? |
Subject: BS: Obama needs to make a sexism speech From: GUEST,mg Date: 06 Aug 08 - 02:22 AM I think he or his wife, perhaps together, need to make a sexism speech, somewhat like the racism speech. Admit it exists, it was probably embedded in the campaign somewhat (I didn't see that much and I think the iron my shirts people were possibly plants), we need to keep breaking down barriers etc. etc. Then he needs to say he is not going to keep from choosing someone because she is a woman. He is not going to select somewhat either unqualified or incompatable because she is a woman. He intends to go with the spirit of the law and have at least neutrality, and if he so chooses, some form of affirmative action. He needs to directly and strongly address the shenanigans of the PUMA crowd and say he understands their disappointment, he will consider their preferred candidate, but he does not intend to discriminate against other women because they want him to. I personally really like Sebelius, although I think her abortion issues will cause no end of problems. But everyone who mentions her says but the Hillary supporters wouldn't like it. So..Richardson supporters won't like it if Bayh is chosen. She should not be called HIllary lite when it seems to me she is certainly equally qualified. We need to address this "any other woman is a slap in the face" nonsense. Or end up with Evan Bayh, who mgiht be perfectly OK, as vice president. End of story. mg |
