Subject: RE: BS: Olympic Games Schedule From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 11 Aug 08 - 03:41 PM Putting this here because katlaughing mentioned equestrian events. At the website I posted, full details of the eventing competition are given. At the end of the third day, Germany leads Australia by only the points of one fault, making for a close finish on day 4. U. S. amd Canada far down the list. In the individual eventing x-country, two Germans lead. I looked at the NY Times sports reports this morning and they say that the Equestrian hasn't started yet. In other words, their reporting covers only those sports considered television-worthy. |

Subject: RE: BS: Olympic Games Shedule From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 10 Aug 08 - 02:42 PM Has anybody checked out the 'live broadcast' site? http://www-watch-sports-live.com/olympics.asp One has to register, and I am just about ready to go out for lunch. I will check later, but someone may have done the drill already. If it is one of those pay affairs, I am not that interested. |

Subject: RE: BS: Olympic Games Shedule From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 10 Aug 08 - 02:34 PM Times- Saw the Womans double sculls heat 2 on CBC Calgary (Mountain) at 10 AM. Listed at 1500 on the Beijing schedule. Times were already posted when I checked just now, so the site is fast (CBC Canada also has a schedule, but it hasn't posted the results yet). Uh- I was trying to figure out the times also, but I'm still confused. Equestrian is followed in Calgary also (Spruce Meadows International). In any case, we are at the mercy of what the networks carry, and their tape delays- Team dressage today (Aug. 10) listed at 0630; results are in; eventing team results- Australia. Eventing individual- Australia (Fredericks), Belgium (Donckers), Holders of U. S. in 5th. |

Subject: RE: BS: Olympic Games Shedule From: astro Date: 10 Aug 08 - 02:18 PM I was kind of excited at the idea of being able to see more of the less popular sports via their online video. But, with a Mac PowerPC machine -- NOT. Quite annoying that they went with a new-fangled Microsoft proprietary plug-in that not everyone can use. ~ Becky in Tucson (on astro's cookie) |
