Subject: RE: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: Wesley S Date: 22 Aug 08 - 11:14 AM I grew up on the west coast of Florida - just north of St Petersburg in a town called Largo. So I know that hurricanes are nothing to screw around with - ever. Take care and stay dry. |

Subject: RE: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: PoppaGator Date: 22 Aug 08 - 10:26 AM Best wishes and good luck. I know from experience that even less-than-catatrophic storms can make for major hassles. |

Subject: RE: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: GUEST,hg Date: 22 Aug 08 - 10:14 AM Okay, well, now the weathergods are predicting FIFTEEN inches of rain in Tallahassee. My garage will be a soggy mess! Oh joy...the last tree fell on my house because the ground was so soggy.... |

Subject: RE: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: Rapparee Date: 22 Aug 08 - 09:35 AM Bee-Dubya: 1. Lives in a cabin in woods, 2. Which he build himself out of palette slats and cardboard, 3. And he engages in wedgies. Bee-Dubya-Ell is the Uniwedgier! Where's my reward? I want to donate it to the Bee-Dubya-Ell Relief Effort. (I'm concerned about "Fay" wanting to hang around Florida. This isn't good.) |

Subject: RE: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 22 Aug 08 - 09:28 AM Thanks for your concern, Janie. Yes, we're well inland (almost on the Alabama line) and on high ground, so concern is minimal. Not supposed to be much wind by the time Fay gets here, just rain. We may get a bit of driveway erosion (We live 1/4 mile back in the woods and our driveway can become a river during heavy rains.), but we keep plenty of gravel on hand just for that purpose. There are a lot of creeks up here, one of which crosses the road we live on. That bridge will probably be under water for a few days, so we'll have to take a detour if we need to go to town, but that's not a big deal. We don't drive that much anyway. |

Subject: RE: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: SINSULL Date: 22 Aug 08 - 08:06 AM I got an email from my niece. Wind damage but no flooding in Boca so far. Tornados are predicted for the northwest and bush has declared parts of Florida a disaster area so that there will be funds available. |

Subject: RE: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: GUEST,hg Date: 22 Aug 08 - 07:32 AM I'll be using myself as a raft to float west to pick up SB and B&S. We're up to our ass in alligators, so to speak. |

Subject: RE: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: Stilly River Sage Date: 22 Aug 08 - 01:42 AM THIS catter's family is down there, the two kids and the ex, in the next county south of the stalled out storm, so I'm assuming they're just about as wet as the folks in Brevard. Poor sods--they went there on vacation! There was no going to Orlando or anyplace else once this blew over. They fly back to Texas on Saturday and I am willing to bet this isn't a trip to visit family they'll forget any time soon. (Moonglow won't have seen the sun or moon glow for days now!) SRS |

Subject: BS: Florida 'Catters, Thinking of you From: Janie Date: 21 Aug 08 - 11:57 PM Harpgirl, BWL, JimmyT - other Florida catters that I don't know are in Florida - Hope you are dry and in a safe place, or will be before the water starts rising if Faye is headed your way. I have a large passel of aunts, uncles and cousins along the East coast who are flooded out. Those on the Gulf coast between Ft. Meyers and Sarasota are fine. BWL, if you are where I think I remember you to be (how is that for awkward phrasing!?) Faye looks like she may make a long, slow pass right over you. Hope you live on high ground. Will be thinking of you and all others. Janie |
