I went in to meet a new general practitioner last week after my old doctor stopped taking my insurance. She had a lot of questions, including how often we eat out.

Who can afford to eat out? I buy sandwiches a couple of times a month and every couple of weeks I buy a rotisserie chicken from Sam's Club and build a dinner around it or use it as leftovers.

I use my pots and pans all of the time. I can't afford new ones either, so it's a good think my Dad was a kitchen gadget junkie. I have a lot of great pans and casseroles and stuff that was added to my already good collection.

Pan sales are good for the economy and imply that shoppers are beginning to think about eating again. Hysteria and panic concerning the surge in sales is misplaced and unnecessary as pan sales always go up this time of year..holidays.


Big Mick: These threads probably are a waste of bandwidth but they seem to have a purpose (sort of) With all the poisonous and/or solemn conversations down here recently, silliness gives a good chance to catch a breath and get back to behaving pleasantly.
It's just a little flash and a quick drop to the bottom of the list. Not much energy or bandwidth is wasted.

Oh Big Mick. These copy cat threads are silly and should be banned!!! But I guess they must be worth opening and even commenting on eh?   Sorry if it bugs you but I guess I enjoyed opening it!

If I could ban one thing from the Mudcat, which I cannot, it is these very silly copycat threads. Once upon a time it was a cute little play on words, and a political statement of sorts. Now it is just booring and a waste of bandwidth. JMTW.

Gold pans -- those things you use to pan gold from streams -- have seen their sales rise. Not exactly skyrocket, but the sales ARE up.

Apparently, due to the recession, more people are eating veg or stew at home instead of junk food out. As a result pan sales have rocketed
