Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: Melissa Date: 26 Dec 08 - 10:45 PM I hadn't seen those links..thank you. I think the story they must have been talking about was probably the "Murder at Twilight" Wicked Attraction thing. Odd that I completely missed the CT article..wasn't even mentioned by the local coffee crew. Thanks |

Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: katlaughing Date: 26 Dec 08 - 10:33 PM Apparently there is a new channel called "Discovery: Investigation" which had a press release out last June about a new show on them they were showing? Not sure if it was new. There's written info about them on their website HERE and the PR was from HERE. But, now that I look it over more, I see it's just a short part of a "Deadly Duos" show. Sorry...:-) |

Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: Melissa Date: 26 Dec 08 - 10:30 PM I'm surprised to have run across two other shows about them. The one I'm looking for will turn up one of these days. |

Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: katlaughing Date: 26 Dec 08 - 10:21 PM Well, shoot. I was hoping you'd find it. Sorry I didn't come back after you answered me about Faye. I understand your concern, now. I hope she found some peace on the Other Side, so to speak. |

Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: Melissa Date: 26 Dec 08 - 09:13 PM I ran across another show on this couple ("Elderly Executioners", which I found by snooping Kat's links. Thanks, Kat!) and it still wasn't the one with music--so I'm popping this thread up again in case somebody has run across the show I'm looking for. thanks, M |

Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: Melissa Date: 11 Nov 08 - 12:10 PM I thought I had neatly evaded the camera (cameraman spent the evening with his butt in my face and I'm not sure how he managed to get me on film?) but a classmate told my sister she had seen a show about Copelands that had music..that she thought "hey, that looked like Melissa...nah..." but the second clip convinced her. So, yeah, I'm apparently there (uck!) and if I had managed to avoid being filmed, I guess I wouldn't realize the shows were cycling again. Faye died a year or so after she was released to a nursing home. I guess I've kind of always worried about her. I was afraid of their house every time we'd drive past (I remember hiding in the floorboard as we passed when I was little) and one time our car stalled just past the house, making it the place to go use a phone. She said "well, I suppose it will be ok...if you hurry" You know how you'll occasionally see someone that creeps you out--and you don't know why, but you know they scare you? Ray was like that for me. I never remember meeting him, never heard anything about him and never dallied driving past when he was in the pasture. I spent a lot of time thinking about Faye. I worry the same way you would worry if you lived near the FLDS compound and had contact with women from there. Feeling like Faye was badly mishandled by the court/county/reporters hurts my heart... |

Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: katlaughing Date: 11 Nov 08 - 11:48 AM Oh! You didn't say it was you playing music at the barbershop! That would be neat to see. Isn't Faye still on Death Row? Curious as to why you might worry about her? |

Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: Melissa Date: 11 Nov 08 - 11:42 AM Thank you, Kat. In my searchings, I hadn't come up with either of those.. I'm sure the clips of us playing were edited to make us as backward, toothless, drooling as possible (it seemed to be the favored approach with portrayals of Locals) but there are some guys from the barbershop that I'd really like to see again--died, and I miss them. I could go on and on about the story itself and the couple poorly written books (and the idea of the comic book?!) but I'll spare you my ramblings. A fascinating tidbit (local inside information) fell into my ear a few days ago and the story has riled me for years. During the investigation/media frenzy, I watched all the news vans driving around the closest place to eat. At the same time, my granny was watching them drive by her house. The farm is very close to my granny's house. I live in my granny's house now and the time I spend worrying about Faye has increased. The Wicked Attraction thing hacked me off. I'm sure the one with clips from the barbershop will also irritate me, but I really want to see it.. Thank you! |

Subject: RE: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: katlaughing Date: 11 Nov 08 - 11:02 AM Could it have been on the History Channel? (scroll down) This seems pretty weird. Their grand nephew is making money off a comic book series he's done on them: click According to This Site, it may have been on something called "Crime Library truTV. Hope this helps! |

Subject: BS: trying to find tv show--US From: Melissa Date: 11 Nov 08 - 02:34 AM In the 90s, a film crew went to a barbershop in Missouri to get 'color' for a special they were doing on the oldest couple on death row in MO. The show has been on recently and I want to see it but can not find it. Another one about the couple has been on ID recently (probably working up excitement for 20th anniversary) The one called "Wicked Attraction: Murder at Twilight" is not the one I'm looking for and I don't know the name of the one I want--or the channel to find it on. It's a serial killer story about a guy who used vagrants for a cattle scheme..and killed them. (Ray Copeland) If someone happens to catch a bit of the show (with music clips) I would really appreciate at least knowing what channel to watch. Name of the show would be handy and other showing times would be exquisite. Thanks, M |
