Oh it is all them not me at all, I was just amazed and delighted to hear a high school kid say that. We tend to think of teenagers being very much wrapped up in themselves but for the most part, I see them doing things like this and I just think

you kids all have it right ...

Last week a group of young kids were going around shoving snow for some elderly people for free. Just doing it because they could

In a world that can be so wrong, there are also so many who are so right

OK, once more. My brain is a little spinny tonight but maybe I can get this right. I'll try to dial down the shoot-from-the-lip thing-- it always gets me in trubble.

Dan. This is not about you taking credit for others' good works, or even your own. I get that. But it IS about the really powerful effect your approach to helping people can have. It is a powerful, powerful effect, the way you do what you do for folks. Not just that you DO it but that YOU do it. To that extent, it matters for the sake of the work itself that you understand how powerful that is, because it is going to present you with opportunities to encourage and mold those who see it in action. (I reference one of my recent PMs to you.) That "leadership" is going to be part of what may seem very simple and straightforward to you at this point.

So of COURSE that kid said what you say s/he said. S/he's part of your world, you're part of his/hers, and s/he's had a brush with you in this project. I kinda think ya probably rubbed off on the kid, just a leetle bit. :~)

Gee, dya think maybe they had a good role model around there somedamnwhar, DAN?!?! Lemme look around.... oh no, who could that be.

:~)

But yeah, young people tend to be so less-confused than us geezers, I agree.

Family in town has 5 small kids, the husband lost his job like a zillion other people in this country, they now all live in a small trailer owned by his brother.

Well with the help of some High School Key club members, some help from my family and friends together raised over 750 dollars, bought them some much needed cloths, toys and food for the kids and family for christmas

One HS school kid said, you know it is always nice to get presents at christmas but after this , I think I would rather just give stuff to people who need it

Out of the mouth of the young, Wisdom!
