At first I thought they were going to restore the minesweeper Calypso that sank. The Cousteau family sacrificed for their clarion message regarding our destruction of sea life. Jacque's son lost his life in a PBY crash.

I remember Robert Klein's standup routine about all the time the documentarian cameras were NOT rolling the difficulties of twelve horny Frenchmen on a boat-

"Put down that seal, Marcel!"

It was the first ever programme I watched on 'colour' TV, and the beauty of Jacques' world was breathtaking. I'll never forget that day, sitting there watching him and his team....For years I followed the adventures of the Calypso, watched this gentle, caring man teaching the world about what was so important, about the damage we're doing..

Part 1 on Youtube

Part 2

"...tomorrow I will demand that the rights of generations to come be written in the duties of the living ones...."

Cousteau and the rights of future generations

John Denver talking about Jacques and his song 'Calypso'

The Cousteau Organisation

He was sucn an inspirational man!

Raise our children on his films, his outlook. Teach them about what is important in life and stop filling their heads with utter crap, their hearts with hate and anger..and maybe, just maybe, this world may start to turn around..
