Maybe your closer than me on the miles vs km. It's about 14 to 15 hours. I drove it very many times....not a too bad drive. ON TCH, it's mostly double lanes (unlike in 72), except for a couple of hours from the NB border to Riviere-du-loop.

I drove twice to Vancouver (return) awhile back, once through Canada, once through the northern USA states. Both are interesting in their own way.

The Maritimes welcome still stands....if your time is free...and are in the traveling state of mind. There's lots of good music and friendly folks throughout the east coast....as you likely know, since you have friends here, and travelled east coast before, (though awhile back).

After Apple Hollow - who knows what?? Maybe even Halifax, then Maine...... As the wind blows, and the music shows....

Thanks Kat. You are correct. And Ed, the last time I drove Montreal to Halifax ('72), it was 1000 miles. What is another ???? km! I have friends there also. Oh, and I actually am living in the State of Washington, on beautiful Whidbey Island, near Seattle. To leave here in the summer, the non-rainy season... What a woman will do for love - of music, that is!

First Stop: Rufus Guitar Shop in Van, friends since 1968 at The Yellow Door where I worked for many years.

If you would care to drive a bit farther (900 or so km) I would like to welcome you to beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia.

That's a little picky, isn't it? She said "crossing" which isn't quite the same as "across." Close to 3,000 miles seems a far enough distance to say across anyway, imo.:-)

Sounds like a lot of fun!

With all due respect celtic broad, you are not driving across Canada, you are driving from BC to Quebec. Enjoy the festival, it sounds grand.
