Your site looks nice!
Except for some spelling errors...
You did very well with not using any gimmicks like animations...

There is just one problem:
When I clicked on the "Mailing List" link, I got
the following error:

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0411'

Name redefined

/inc/adovbs.inc, line 14

Const adOpenForwardOnly = 0

The Link to mudcat is getting there. I just haven't had time to update it yet and I'm not working at my computer.

It will definitely be posted.

Uh...you mean like the spelling of proofreading?

Proof reading is always essential when it comes to developing an internet site. If I go to a site that is full of spelling and punctuation errors, I immediately make judgements regarding the professionalism of that sight. So I appreciate when mistakes are pointed out to so I can revise and make the sites I work on better.

And, that is something I've been wondering how to get into: Website Proof Reader. Anybody know how or have suggestions?

I really appreciate all of your feedback. I will definitely correct the spelling mistakes which I obviously missed while doing the proof reading. Its amazing how many time you can read something you create and miss glaring errors like that.

I put the splash page up because I checked some other sights and saw them doing the same thing. But your right, it is a pain. I will get rid of it.

Thanks for all your fedback and encouragement!!!

It may seem to be a minor point, but I think spelling and grammar mistakes tend to make a site look unprofessional. Looking at just the discography page, I found "refelcts" and an incomplete sentence, "Whether it's the haunting, dark Celtic sounds of "5 Roses" and "Sandbox Sculptures" or the lighthearted "Far, Far Away"..." What's supposed to come after that?
I'd like to see more color in the site, but that's a personal preference. Plain black-and- white tends to look grey and dreary on a computer monitor, but maybe you're trying to look grey. What I really hate are those hard-to-read sites that are completely on a black background.
I think it's great how you included lyrics, and I don't like it when performers are stingy with lyrics. I also like the RealAudio samples - they're generous enough to give a real feeling for your music. I really like the music, by the way.

I second the motion to dump the first page. It adds nothing and just slows down the process of getting to the information. A smart user will bookmark the second page.

Dear Efatha, Your site is just fine, you need little advice from anyone -- whoever did it knows exactly what they are doing. The only slight questions I would have are: (1) what the opening page is doing. It is cool -- but maybe too cool -- what incentive is there to go any further, unless you already know what is going on with the group? It isn't anything really, except a nice picture and a name;
(2) What is the concept of the shape of the links entry points, those curvilinear fronds?
I say this knowing that you may have turned your back on an overall "concept" -- which is not a bad idea. There are lots of hideous concept sites. But it looks as if there is a concept, we just can't figure out what it is. If the group is called openness, maybe the slight opaqueness of the site is a problem. Again, this may be the idea. It is a very clean site. You are to be congratulated.
yours, Peter T.

Not sure what you need Efatha, or how sophisticated you are already. A few basic hints:
(1) Don't have heavy loadings on the first page (use lowsource GIFS or equivalent). Have links to bigger pages. This is netiquette rule 1. People will get fed up waiting. not everyone -- especially in your business -- has the latest and fastest.
(2) Make sure your internal links work, and that each page that comes up gives people the option to return to the first page. This is netiquette rule 2.
(3) Keep it simple and reliable.
(4) Test your site after it is up with a different computer somewhere else. You will probably find that the colour resolution is wrong, or the pages are too wide for the screen, or something.
(4) Ask Max. This is one of the best sites on the Web -- it is clean, clear, and reliable. That is the main reason why there are lots of people here, though charm helps.
yours, Peter T.

This is a site for a band that blends a Celtic sound with progressive folk rock. Can anyone give me any feedback or suggestiond for this site?
