I had to turn the sound off this was the most annoying noise I have ever heard at a sporting event, FIFA will have to ban the use of these `horns` at next years World Cup, TV companies will not like the idea of their viewers, switching off the sound.

Agreed, am, on all counts.

I was rather upset at the US coaching staff in the second half. Seemed to me it was a case of "Get the ball to So-and-So." rather than let the players play with field vision and progression of fluid play AND ball control. Ya can't score if the other team has the ball.

Having said all that. GREAT SHOW USA!!!!!

I'd say congrats to the Brazillians, but, even tho I consider myself a true sportsman and gentleman, there is just sommat about them that pisses me off. There are the ONLY ones in all of the sports I follow that I just have an inane dislike for. Must be the fucking horns and drums. I would like to see FIFA ban ALL "noise-makers". If ya wanna sing, great... if ya wanna give me a headache with constant agrravating NOISE... beat the feet outta here.

A well organised US team put the frightners on Brazil, this US team is now a match for any side in the world, Brazil finishing the better team, but the US teams first half display was excellent.

Actually 3-2 I think. I flipped back and forth between it and NASCAR (I AM a shallow motherfucker) because I can't stand those simpleass horns. US played well in the first half and not too badly in the second, but when Brazil got their act together it was all over but the shoutin'.......or the kazoohorn blowing.

Funny enough I've never heard those sounds that everybody seem so upset about. I guess I've been paying too much attention to the SOCCER than the spectators and their noise which is part of the game. My worry is the low patronage of the games.

This will effectively keep me from watching the WC. I'vew struggled thru two CC games and I can't take it. I sadly enough DO enjoy the commentary but I guess if I decide to watch, I'll tune it out.

I still think the South African Experience should include anal insertions of vuvushit-thing up the ass of every dickhead who toots one. Fuck South Africa.

Next year's World Cup Finals are to be held in South Africa (that's why they are having the Confederations Cup there as a build-up and to test facilities). So unless FIFA steps in (unlikely), you will hear these bloody things throughout the tournament. South African fans will be at all the matches.

FIFA won't ban the vevuzala at the upcoming World Cup, huh? Hopefully, it will only be heard at matches involving the South African team, plus other matches (if any) held in South Africa.

If it's part of their national football culture, and it arose during the time of reconciliation, I can see why it should be allowed. (It would probably be impossible to supress, anyway).

Still, the degree to which the rest of the world finds this noisemaker annoying might mitigate against ever again holding a major international event in South Africa.

USA played well, very committed, against a Spanish team who probably thought they could stroll through. Brazil played in a similar way against South Africa, and will have to up their game if they want to beat the USA in the final.

That bloody noise is getting on my nerves as well, it's almost as bad as squeaky shouty women tennis players at Wimbledon.

I have been watching a bit of the tournament. Every game it seems like the PA system or the fans are just blowing horns constantly. I dont know it's the fans cause Ive seen 6 games all w different teams, but always the annoying buzzz.
