Subject: RE: BS: Views of Mid-East Peace From: beardedbruce Date: 17 Jul 09 - 08:53 PM And the Palestinians want to kill all Jews- or so they have said. The Palestinians will never let the Israelis live in peace. Not much point in discussions of the matter since no one in the region is capable of stopping the Palestinian violence except themselves, and they choose not to. |

Subject: RE: BS: Views of Mid-East Peace From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 17 Jul 09 - 08:50 PM And the Israelis want the entire area. The Israelis will never concede any rights to Palestinians. Not much point in discussions of the matter since no one in the region is capable of countering Israeli expansionism. |

Subject: RE: BS: Views of Mid-East Peace From: beardedbruce Date: 17 Jul 09 - 06:21 PM Q, The Palestinians will never allow Israel to have peace. Talks will go on and on, while the Palestinians plan more violence until nothing remains of them but widows and cripples. Just as valid a point, and along the lines of what you are talking about. |

Subject: RE: BS: Views of Mid-East Peace From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 17 Jul 09 - 05:50 PM These, like so many other other comments on the Israeli-Palestinian situation, assume that eventually a two-state solution will ensue. The Israelis will never allow the Palestinians to form an independant state. Talks will go on and on, while Israel continues to nibble away at the west bank until nothing remains for the Palestinians except subjugation or emigration. |

Subject: BS: Views of Mid-East Peace From: beardedbruce Date: 17 Jul 09 - 01:21 PM Two interesting articles. I do not choose to tell people here what to think, but perhaps reading them might lead to useful conversation. 8-{E http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/16/AR2009071602737.html "Arabs Need to Talk to the Israelis By Shaikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa Thursday, July 16, 2009; 8:36 PM We need fresh thinking if the Arab Peace Initiative is to have the impact it deserves on the crisis that needlessly impoverishes Palestinians and endangers Israel's security.
