I have always contended that the "big flap" was simply him being naieve and attempting to toy with the media because he felt they overstepped their boundaries... very foolish, but not worthy of the results. I could be wrong, but, in any case, the lad can gut one dirty cat.

That is a good idea Ashley has there. All it takes is one politico, like Layton for instance, to take him up on it then all the others will be tripping over each other to not be outdone. That's just the way they are.
