Hi there all, Just an update on Mum, She is home now, but is frail and we know she is now on borrowed time. My Youngest sister Edwina is doing a fantastic job looking after her - and living so far away is a helpless feeling. I have a few commitments which Mum would be cross with me not to fulfil and then I am looking forward to going home and spending some time with her. I am so glad she had an (albeit wet) holiday down here, the week before her trip to hospital and I was able to enjoy her company. Me? I am now fully mended and pretty much back to normal :0)

Thank you all for your prayers and support, they have been a great help. May I suggest that you now direct your thoughts towards Trefor and Vicki Williams, Vickis health problems I am sure would benefit from your continued positive thoughts. You are such a wonderful lot x

Open Mike,
They are saying its atrial fibrillation........ her heart is very irregular and fast, her BP is low.
It has settled a bit today, but not enough to let her come home, we shall see what tomorrow brings, Thank you all for your continued support, it means a lot, Having just had surgery myself 3 weeks ago, support is more than welcome at the moment :0)

If a patient has an advocate with them in the hospital
it can help .

I think a "racing" heart beat would be tachicardia.
fibrillation is more of a case of not beating or
pumping strong enough to move enough volume of blood,
as i see it. in any case i hope this gets resolved and
she is able to get home again soon.

Update.... Mums heart racing again! they have put her on digoxin and are waiting to see what happens (we have been doown this road before last time ending in a cardioversion, her heart muscle is weaker now, so its risky and theres the worry about clots, but at the moment she is in good spirits.

Mum is sounding fine, had a quick chat with her on the phone.
Her heart rate has slowed, with an increase in her medication - apparently she was VERY dehydrated, a combination of Diabetes and Heart failure - sweats, water tablets and all. she has been on a drip all night which has perked her up, if she stays stable she may be allowed home in a couple of days. Thanks for the prayers & good thoughts xx

Hi all, I know what a wonderful supportive bunch of friends you all are, so I am hoping I can rely on you to send out prayers, healing thoughts etc. to my Mum, who has just been admitted to hospital. She has congestive heart failure and following an angina episode when she was staying with me last week, she has been admitted to hospital with atrial fibrillation and low blood pressure. She had a cardioversion treatment 2 years ago to regulate the heartbeat, and she is NOT a good patient :0) (like mother like daughter) Anything you can offer up I am certain will help and I (and I am sure Mum) will be extremely grateful.
