there is a tradition of serving green beer here on st. pat's...let's hope st. valentine escapes the excuse to use red dye #4 and other #'s

Guinness is as artificial as its advertising paraphernalia

Sitting in a pub last night it occurred to me that St. Valentine`s Day is probably the last holiday that Guinness company hasn`t taken over yet.

So - at least for this year - we were spared of:

- imitation rose petals on the floor,

- silly heart-shaped hats,

- "Happy St. Vally`s Day!" flags all over the place,

- pink beer....

What else comes to mind?
