Subject: RE: BS: Spleen Cringe From: Spleen Cringe Date: 17 Nov 10 - 11:03 AM I bet you'll be back, Spleen! Might take a while, but this drug is hard to kick said Backwoodsman, back in March. And he was right (if I'm ever in the Backwoods this probably means I owe you a pint). I have discovered that it is possible to do a full time job, have a little family and run a record label yet still have time to come on here and bother the good people of Mudcat. So after a bit of guest posting, I'm back. Sorry... Meanwhile, there follows a brief public information announcement: If you'd like to hop over to Folk Police Recordings you can read the latest on what we're up to. First two releases are Good Grief, a four track e.p. by Lincolnshire-born Lewes resident Elle Osborne - original songs informed by her grounding in traditional folk; and The Oak, Ash and Thorn Project, a various artists reworking of Peter Bellamy's settings of Kipling's Puck songs with contributions from the Unthanks, Jon Boden, Pamela Wyn Shannon, Trembling Bells, Jackie Oates, Emily Portman, Tim Eriksen, Olivia Chaney, The Owl Service, Cath & Phil Tyler, Elle Osborne, Lisa Knapp, Fay Hield, Charlie Parr, Sam Lee and Rapunzel and Sedayne. Both are in the shops from 24th January but will be available direct from the website before that... Cheers and all the best to you, Spleeno |

Subject: BS: Spleen Cringe From: Spleen Cringe Date: 16 Mar 10 - 04:37 PM For those of you who might be mildly interested, I'm putting Spleen Cringe to bed. He's spending far too much time lurking here even if he doesn't post all that much any more. He tells me he has other things he needs to be getting on with that are taking up more and more of his time and which are really exciting. He says he wants you to know that he has enjoyed the time he's spent here, but thinks its time to bow out before he ends up pissing any more people off. He is also aware that posting his views on things on a folk music forum doesn't really mean anything. He has also come to the conclusion that relationships with other humans that don't involve any face-to-face contact can sometimes end up with people making all kinds of often negative assumptions about each other that don't tally with who they really are. He thinks he maybe pontificates too much. He definitely worries too much. Finally, he sends you his best. Love and virtual hugs, x |
