Only 90 seconds on your specialist subject in the semis and they were more about Sharp's life rather than his collecting so I only got a couple right and once again my namesake did better.

One time, someone's specialist subject was specific years of 'The Golden Age of Piracy'.
I'd just done lengthy research for one of my songs 'Mary Read'.
Managed to outscore the contestant for once...

Selwyn from the Somer TFC (Fri, Albion, Sidbury, Worcester) appeared on the show 10 or more years ago and he regarded Folk subjects as too difficult for the format of the show, and he is very knowledgeable. He lasted one show AFAIK.

And Last season a keen ceilidhnaut was in the Reading team on University Challenge.

Some of us struggle to reach the dizzy heights of Page 3 of the Sun.

Friday 9 April, Mastermind on BBC 2 has a contestant answering questions on Cecil Sharp (or, as the Radio Times spells it, Sharpe). I guess this must be the guy who answered on Child ballads in the first round. Can't remember his name - from Tyneside.
