Subject: RE: BS: Pirate Party of Canada From: LadyJean Date: 01 May 10 - 01:45 AM Canada has a Raging Rhino Party. I think I'll take them over the Pirate Party, in that I have been plagiarized and I'd still like the SOB's head on a plate. |

Subject: RE: BS: Pirate Party of Canada From: Rapparee Date: 30 Apr 10 - 07:04 PM And here I thought that pillage and rapine were finally getting their own political party and I was going to congratulate Canada for being so forthright. |

Subject: RE: BS: Pirate Party of Canada From: Little Hawk Date: 30 Apr 10 - 03:53 PM I'm waiting for the "None Of The Above" Party to form and run a national slate of prospective NOTA candidates. I feel sure that they would do well...perhaps even form a new government. ;-D Their elected members could be chosen by lot in each riding from amongst the populace following the election. Necessary qualifications: 1. Must not be a lawyer or a CEO. 2. Must not have earned more than $150,000 or less than a poverty-level income in the past fiscal year. 3. Must not be in jail or charged with a criminal offence. 4. Must be willing to serve public faithfully in said office for one term. 5. 50% of those selected must be males and 50% must be females, so as to accurately represent the populace who elected them and achieve a balanced perspective in government. (If there are an odd number of them serving, resolve the gender of the last one with the toss of a coin.) ;-D I honestly feel that this would result in a better and more honest political system than the one we have at present. We would, in effect, be electing mice for a change instead of cats!!! (see famous Tommy Douglas "Mouseland" speech about that on Youtube) |

Subject: BS: Pirate Party of Canada From: maple_leaf_boy Date: 30 Apr 10 - 01:35 PM In the news the other day, a new political party was given eligibility status in Canada. The Pirate Party may run in the next election. The main issue in their platform is fighting copyright laws. I thought it was an interesting article. I probably wouldn't vote for them, though. |
