Subject: RE: 2 day Songwriting workshop BUDE From: Rockhen Date: 01 Mar 11 - 05:33 AM Fantastic value, I wish I lived nearer. Is too far away for me. I always enjoy hearing how different people write and trying different styles. All the best for it. |

Subject: 2 day Songwriting workshop BUDE From: Hawker Date: 01 Mar 11 - 04:49 AM Hi all, Budefolk in North Cornwall, England are running a 2 day songwriting workshop in Bude on Sat 12th March 10.30am - 4pm and Sun 13th March 11am - 5pm led by Brilliant singer/songwriter Mike O'Connor.A 2 day songwriting workshop led by one of Cornwall's finest songwriters: Mike's songwriting style is distinctive but rooted firmly in the tradition. His songs are known the world over and have been recorded by Martyn Wyndham-Read, Gordon Bok, Keith Kendrick, Sarah Morgan, Mike Nicholson & many more. He produced & directed the iconic folk operas The Cry of Tin, Unsung Heroes & Cornish Lads. Mike has an extensive background in musicology and folklore. Mike has a relaxed and friendly teaching style. The workshop will cover the art & craft of songwriting: why we write songs, the tools & materials available for developing a traditional style, polishing & performing. Vocal and instrumental skills are not essential but can help. Cost is £20 for the two days and includes lunch, which I am sure you will agree is excellent value. Places are now very limited, but there are a few places left if anyone is keen to come and join us. pm me for more info. Cheers, Lucy Burrow. |
