Alice Cooper is one of my all-time favorites. I've seen him 4 times, including this past October when he toured with this guy.

I had heard that Heavy Metal got its name from Le(a)d Zeppelin. Wiki says the First Metal bands were Zep, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. That sounds about right to me. I always liked Tull. But I consider them prog rock. To me, the flute diminishes the Heavy.

i like a bit of rock and roll, and joanie is among the best at honest hard driving r n' r.

however i've never bought an album of hers.

now cream, the animals, the kinks and the byrds--i have bought cds of theirs on reissue.

i still think "we gotta get out of this place" is the best rock song of all time and really cries out for a new cover version--a ready made hit with a few new lyrics and a bit of guitar to add to that classic bass line. the origional only had two verses and minimal music other than bass drumms and the organ.

LH, a lot of their lyrics are about social and environmental issues which is one of the many reasons I really like the band. Beds Are Burning is off the album Diesel and Dust. My other two favorite albums are Blue Sky Mining and Earth and Sun and Moon.
