"Tu Domine" (You, Lord) is a pharase that appears freqntly in huymns. It's a bit too common to search - unless we could find a Bergman expert who could give us a bit more of the song.

"Non nobis domine" from the Vulgate here:
Non nobis domine
Both Latin and translation.

The music to "Non nobis domine" used in the Henry V movie was composed by the 16th c. English composer, William Byrd (1543-1623).
With corrected spelling-

Non nobis domine, domine
non nobis domine,
Sed nomini, sed nomini,
tuo da gloriam.

There is speculation, but no evidence, that the piece was composed for the Shakespeare play.

The Church uses these words:
Non nobis domine, non nobis,
Sed nomini tuo da gloriam,
Sed nomini tuo da gloriam.

The full Mouton text and translation is here: Non nobis domine

I found mp3 / Real Audio versions of Patrick Doyle's Non Nobis Domine (from 1989's Henry V here (scroll to the bottom of the page).

As I listened, the "nomine" sounds more like "nomini" -- Non nobis, Domine...sed nomini tuo...

Drat those inflected languages.

Could this be "Non nobis, Domine?" Old hymn; appears in the post-Agincourt scene in Branagh's Henry V, scored by Paddy Doyle.

Non nobis, Domine, Domine
Non nobis, Domine
Sed nomine, sed nomine
Tuum da gloria?

(Not to us, o Lord, not to us, but to Your name give the glory.)

The Latin is very old -- Shakespeare's 1599 text has Henry saying that for the victory they should sing "Non nobis" and "Te Deum."

Looks like Bob Pfeffer never got his question answered. Still, it might be useful to add this song to our collection.

Subject: Tu Domine: lyrics?

A friend of mine is interested in finding the lyrics to an old Latin hymn from the 1300's or so, which he heard in an Ingmar Bergman movie. He's pretty sure the title of the hymn is "Tu, Domine", saying that the phrase "Tu, Domine" gets repeated many times in the course of the hymn.

Can anyone supply them, or point to a reference that does?
