Subject: RE: BS: Cleaning interior of a cocktail shaker From: frogprince Date: 13 Jun 12 - 08:17 AM Faster than a speeding shopping cart! Able to roll up sloping curbs with a single shove! Able to lick a tall cocktail shaker clean with a single slurp! It's...???...Man! |

Subject: RE: BS: Cleaning interior of a cocktail shaker From: Will Fly Date: 13 Jun 12 - 03:23 AM Ebbie, Don's not really a human - he has the body of a Hercules, the brain of an Einstein and the tongue of an enormous frog. He can lick out my shaker any day - just let me have my camera to hand... |

Subject: RE: BS: Cleaning interior of a cocktail shaker From: Ebbie Date: 13 Jun 12 - 02:31 AM I hesitate to speculate on the length of your tongue, Don. My little dog is of a breed that on an individual basis may not be able to contain its tongue inside its mouth. I would not like to visualize that on a human being. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cleaning interior of a cocktail shaker From: Will Fly Date: 11 Jun 12 - 03:09 PM Ah, Rap - I asked meself, and meself didn't know! Prolonged soap and water sounds good. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cleaning interior of a cocktail shaker From: Rapparee Date: 11 Jun 12 - 02:53 PM Is the inside stained or is there "crud" built up? I'd think that a long soak in hot soapy water, followed by a good wash and rinse would work. You might also consider asking a librarian....8-) |

Subject: RE: BS: Cleaning interior of a cocktail shaker From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 11 Jun 12 - 02:47 PM Probably. I once read an article by a museum curator on how to care for fine household objects. She said the best thing to do with silver and silver plate is to use it often and wash it like the other dishes in the kitchen sink. (not the dishwasher) If that's good for knives and forks, why not for a cocktail shaker? |

Subject: BS: Cleaning interior of a cocktail shaker From: Will Fly Date: 11 Jun 12 - 02:37 PM I've just acquired an Art Deco silver-plated cocktail shaker. The exterior is beautiful - but I need to clean out the interior before I start blending and pouring. Any suggestions as to the best way to clean the interior - or is simple soap and hot water the answer? |
