Subject: RE: BS: I'll tumble for ya From: Charley Noble Date: 27 Jun 12 - 09:31 AM Not a good start for the day. With regard to my mother's front steps? Well, she's 94 and uses a 4-wheeled walker, has a terrible sense of balance, and some time ago I added railings, and mini-steps which reduced the step up and down from 10 inches to 5 inches. There was just a big 5' by 3 ' slab of granite there and plenty of room for two mini-steps. She may still take a tumble there, especially when she's in a hurry, and I probably should make a ramp. I also installed "door pulls" on the door frames at each side for her to grab onto. Once they're used to prowling around in the "jungle" it's hard to keep the old folks in! Charley Noble |
