John D. Marks is/was a member of the Ashoka Fellowship.

Ashoka was founded by Bill Drayton in 1980.

The request for info on Search for Common Ground came up on a different BS thread. And no respect intended for the member who posted the request, but my opinion is that this request deserves a thread of its own. I don't know the answer myself. But this thread will help to address the question.

A Mudcat Forum search shows that this NGO -- non-governmental organization -- has indeed been mentioned in posts on much earlier threads. The search results brought up a thread on the Palestinian crisis. In that thread, a member submitted a post about Common Ground News, which has its own dot-org website, and Search for Common Ground, with a separate website.

Here, with the dread that I will sound like the worst of cynics, are my two questions.

Who founded and created this NGO?

Whose money finances it?
