Trump received the most severe 'private' dressing down by his generals regarding his tweets of war in the most secure facility near the White House. Afterwards Gen Mattis made an announcement designed to supersede all of Trumps tweets to KJ Un. I expect Trump to change his tone for a couple weeks until he can not contain himself any longer. Expect taxes and the NFL to take eyes off of Korea.

ps Mc Master played good cop.

this information is guaranteed unverifiable.

I have listened to the horrible translations of the North Koreans in the UN.

I can imagine how bad Trump tweets are translated.

For what its worth (worthless to many) I have no ominous 'noise' regarding nuclear exchange as I do with other mass phenomena like hurricanes and other near future major human events.

" where the occasional idiot wants to grandstand his dodgy "knowledge"

Better to be an idiot than an arrogant "well educated scientist" any day of the week. Better a little humility than hubris!

I dreamed I heard Ali last night
alive as you or me
How is this you're 1 year dead?
"stand for war and be dumb or take a knee for freedom"
said Ali.

The old white racists hated you, they hated you said I
It takes cold silence to kill a Man, I never died said he.
"Peace is hard. War is failure. Speak a word, Lift a finger".
said Ali.

The racists are in charge again
They're in charge again said I
If you take a knee for freedoms sake We'll never be victims
Don't be silent victims.

I dreamed I heard Ali last night
alive as you or me , he said
Sometimes it takes all your strength, just to be free
Float like a cloud , sting like a bee
said Ali

The risk of nuclear war is more or less omnipresent for accidental and deliberate stupid reasons. The unsung heroes of prevention are almost always the lower ranks behind the scenes.

Peace is hard. War is failure. Speak a word, Lift a finger.

stand for war and be dumb or take a knee for freedom

I don't think I'm an alarmist by nature - but I'm starting to get really concerned about the imminent possibility of nuclear war. Only a few days ago, I was able to convince myself that "cooler heads" (great band name!) would prevail. Now, I'm starting to question the influence of cooler heads. If North Korea shoots down one of those American jets that are buzzing their air space, for example, what will the response be?

That one wasn't that acrimonious, and it it did get people lining up on different sides for non-political reasons and in different formations than usual.

I suspect from what I've read about it that I would find the Campi Flegrei rather disappointing, having been round Whakarewarewa, Hells Gate and nearby places in the Taupo volcanic field long before it got to its present level of touristiness. (My father knew the chief vulcanologist for the Rotorua area: he kept his car permanently fuelled up to the max, boot full of shovels, planks and ropes, with the garage door always open and everybody in the family having a spare set of keys).

It's great that you enjoyed that, Donuel. Just make sure you go there before you die. I've been several times but I constantly have to work on Mrs Steve to ever go back to the same places... We're in a very nice place right now. More of that later.

- just a funny aside;
Bill Maher said last night he got hate tweets that he did not have or want a bucket list. It reminds me of Obama saying that he did not have a bucket list but that he does have something that rhymes with it. Executive action on immigration...bucket!

HAHA OL yup

I have misjudged many people over the years. I have to give a nod to Jim because I used to think he was a cut and paste author. It appears he is not.

Then there are the bad ass good guys like Jack

While Trump's personality is deeply damaged he still is an expert racist and antagonist.

btw Steve, your tour of Italy post had me seeing the sites in color.

Finally there are wars of words here below the line. In your opinion are there any clear winners or champions?

Trump v. Spaw would have been Bambi meets Godzilla. I miss him.

It would be nice if we could just chill out and say what we think about what's going on. What we THINK. I've just posted a load of crap about one of my favourite places on Earth in a thread where the occasional idiot wants to grandstand his dodgy "knowledge." Typical bloody Mudcat. Any minute now I'll be kicked in the goolies for changing the subject. Such is life.

Kofefe trophy fee, wife.
what the hell does that mean? It sounds like an insult or does it refer to Trump actually having his current wife delivered?

Some words can inadvertently alienate someone if they perceive an insult.

A Trump tweet averages 4 negative words and 2 insults.

There is a CNN special called Twitter and Trump with Bill Weir I highly recommend as factual entertainment. ****
Most people love trumptweets and others fear he will eventfully go one tweet too far.

Then there is the war of words between Kim and Trump which is both entertaining and desperately dangerous.

Jimmy Kimmel's war of words/feelings speaks louder than both houses of Congress.

Finally there are wars of words here below the line. In your opinion are there any clear winners or champions? Keith, Amos, Rap, Red. BWL, Joe...everyone? I think only a few expertly argue, the rest just share or profess.
