Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: Stilly River Sage Date: 03 May 18 - 10:52 AM I think that nomination story is a hoax. And I suspect that Kim recognizes a player who is even more batshit crazy than he is. A rather bizarre approach to diplomacy, one liable to blow up in a lot of people's faces. |

Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 03 May 18 - 05:22 AM The president of S.Korea nominated Trump for the Nobel peace prize over this. Unlikely though. |

Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: Jim Carroll Date: 02 May 18 - 07:36 PM "as long as Donald keeps his mouth shut" And the chance of that is......! Trump will undoubtedly use this as a mid-term photo-opportunity to show what a great leader he is - just what a peace negotiation needs I was serious about the validity of the US being nuclear facilitated and demanding that others disarm - it negates the whole claim of nuclear balance that has allowed these filthy weapons to bring the DOOMSDAY CLOCK to within minutes from midnight Jim Carroll |

Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: Donuel Date: 02 May 18 - 05:38 PM The summit with North Korea should be in good hands with Sec. of State Pompeo and Dennis Rodman as long as Donald keeps his mouth shut. |

Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: Jim Carroll Date: 01 May 18 - 02:57 PM As the yanks are the only ones to have ever used these weapon against a civilian population, perhaps it's time to demand they got rid of theirs With Trump as president, they can hardly be described as "stable" Jim Carroll |

Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: Donuel Date: 01 May 18 - 02:26 PM Remember Kim's recent train trip to Beijing ? China laid down the law and Kim was reminded of the Art of War, 'when your opponent is a liar, you must become the best liar. Besides you need the money. |

Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: bobad Date: 01 May 18 - 12:39 PM He did say his halting of nuclear tests is unconditional but it would go a lot further if he denuclearized. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: Jos Date: 01 May 18 - 12:36 PM He is closing down a test site (which was probably no longer viable, anyway, having been damaged so badly by earlier nuclear tests), so why would he not capitalise on the situation? He has not promised to destroy any nuclear stockpiles. His stated desire for the Korean peninsula to be totally denuclearised may involve there being no nuclear powers present there at all - which would involve the United States no longer having any bases or holding any exercises there. Would Trump agree to that? |

Subject: RE: BS: Better news from Korea From: beardedbruce Date: 01 May 18 - 12:13 PM Couldn't POSSIBLY be that he is looking at Trump, and saying "This guy might actually DO what he says." Naw. |

Subject: BS: Better news from Korea From: Keith A of Hertford Date: 01 May 18 - 11:56 AM A few months ago we had bleak discussion here about the crisis in Korea and the real fear of a nuclear exchange. Now we have seen Kim Jong-Un cross into the South to make peace. He has offered to dismantle nuclear facilities under international supervision. Such an unprecedented and unpredicted breakthrough merits a thread I thought. |
