Well, sorry, regarding Canada --
however, Michigan is not all that far from Canada.
And here's something:

an ensemble based in the US calls itself the
Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus.
All the players are men, for what that is worth,
and their style/genre is called
"Kharkiv or Poltavka" .
Their organizational center: Detroit.

Andy Birko in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and
Bill Vetzal in Ontario (Whitby?), Canada both build banduras.
I suppose you already knew of Vasyl "Bill" Vetzal?
He is a Manitoba native.

"The Kharkiv bandura has 34 to 65 stings and often includes a key-changing mechanism. This style of bandura has virtually vanished from Ukraine and is at risk of becoming extinct. This makes the instruments you see on stage priceless." You can get in touch with them at

https://birkonium.com/product/chernihiv-bandura-string-sets/

I don't know where they're located, but they can make a suggestion anyway.

I'm trying to find a source for strings for a 34 string bandura project that I started building 40 years ago.
Does anyone know of a source in Canada?
