WyoWoman,

I don't have a guitar with me, but just singing it in my head says it's a standard three-chord pattern, but it probably starts on the IV chord. Try it in the key of C, but starting at F on the word "alone", going to C on "since" , F on the second "alone" and to G7 on "heart".

I think you could fancy it up — sounds to my mind's ear like it might take a Dmin or possibly a D9 when you repeat the above pattern for the second time around in each verse.

Of course, while I'm posting this somebody had probably jumped in with the exact chords..... always happens.

cheers,

david

Kendall -- I *just* got a CD of hers so I could get this song off of it. I don't have the chords, but I did find out that the CD is still in circulation.

I can get you the CD title, etc., if you're interested. Anyone know the chords?

WyoWoman

Subject: Lyr Add: ALL ALONE AM I
From: Bugsy

BRENDA LEE 1963

ALL ALONE AM I
Original Greek words by Jean Ioannidis, music by M. Hadjidakis, ©1962.
English words by Arthur Altman

All alone am I ever since your goodbye
All alone with just a beat of my heart
People all around but I don't hear a sound
Just the lonely beating of my heart

No use in holding other hands
For I'd be holding only emptiness
No use in kissing other lips
For I'd be thinking just of your caress

All alone am I ever since your goodbye
All alone with just a beat of my heart
People all around but I don't hear a sound
Just the lonely beating of my heart

No other voice can say the words
My heart must hear to ever sing again
The words you used to whisper low
No other love can ever bring again.

All alone am I ever since your goodbye
All alone with just a beat of my heart
People all around but I don't hear a sound
Just the lonely beating of my heart

Cheers
