Subject: RE: Walton on the Naze Folk songs? From: Nick Dow Date: 09 Jul 25 - 07:50 PM There were 968 Traditional songs collected in Essex. None from Walton but no doubt there are some from surrounding towns. Eight were collected in Chelmsford, and 49 in Ipswich. 20 were collected in Clacton. This should give a fairly complete idea of what was sung in Walton. As for Folk Tales I'll bet there is a book of Essex stories somewhere. Take a look on line. |
