Yes, now it's clear it's the recording of THAT concert I WANT IT TOO!! (We'd hoped to be there but it clashed with a family birthday or something else that was boring but inescapable . . but some more fortunate friends were SO KIND as to give us glowing reports of the event.)

I have all the pre-1980 Steeleye Span on vinyl, but nothing after that. (My mother's students at Rutgers got all the albums in existence at that time for her, and I've now claimed them for myself.) I actually only have two (Parcel of Rogues and Now We Are Six) on CD.

Dave -- Try TIME. It's Maddy and Gay on female vocals and the last band that backed Maddy. It's on CD at Amazon. Well worth it! Released April 96, so probably taped about the same time as the concert. A few of the songs are duplicates on MarkV of the Journey CD set, but most aren't there.

And yeah, most of my vinyls got "borrowed permanently," too. Now have everything on CD.

I stand corrected. I'm glad to have the CD, its a late Xmas gift; and I didnt read the cover through yet. But I still recommend the Journey to anyone who likes Span music most of mine was on Lp's and got borrowed and never returned or broken and lost...So its been a while since I heard them, still have the magic for me, mates. It says on the site that it's the concert from Sept 2, '95 that Park Records got around to releasing 4 years later. That's what I thought. Maddy's gone. TIME was the last album as a group.

Dave: Are you SURE this was recorded in 1999?? I've certainly seen a suggestion elsewhere that this is a recording of their reunion concert of a year or two earlier than that . . (and I don't remember any talk of a reunion last year) . .

I heard about that Dave, they did this song about a soldier wanting to come in on a cold night. It was good. It's the only thing I've ever heard by Steeleye Span. On the other hand, Maddy Prior is one of my favorites. Love "The Year" and "Ravenchild." YOUNGBLOOOOOOODS!

Hey any Steeleye Span lovers out there? you gotta hear the double CD released by Park records Called THE JOURNEY wow its incredible, This was recorded in Sept.1999 at the Forum in London, with all the members past and present. Incredible recordings. Park records have a web site...www.parkrecords.com I just got a copy of the CD from the UK and its great..
