The group played many high profile gigs but had high expenses. For example, there was no such thing as a cheap airfare (to travel on business) in Europe at that time and they did not record directly for the record company but for a production company. I think the reasons were artistic and economic.

The best answer was not very mysterious. It was simply that all that bubbling talent decided to pursue their carreers individually and quite successfully by the looks of it.
