Subject: RE: The Hunger Site From: GeorgeH Date: 06 Mar 00 - 10:31 AM It's rather like the bucket under the dripping tap . . you certainly can't see what effect one drip has, but the bucket fills up nevertheless. G. |

Subject: RE: The Hunger Site From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 05 Mar 00 - 09:50 AM First thing I do when I get on the computer in the morning every day is Hunger Site. And my wife's email site has the Hunger Site link also, so we get two bites at the apple. |

Subject: RE: The Hunger Site From: Escamillo Date: 05 Mar 00 - 03:06 AM it seems serious. what intrigues me is why there are only almost unknown companies as sponsors, and not the big ones. i'll contribute too. - andres - who suddenly lost all caps letters - oh, that's 9 dollar keyboards. |

Subject: RE: The Hunger Site From: Barbara Date: 05 Mar 00 - 01:42 AM There's this bad storm and whole lot of sea critters are washed up on the beach. Couple is out walking and the woman is picking up the critters and tossing them back in. Man asks her what the hell she's doing that for; there must be thousands of them on the beach and she's only going to get a few back in, not enough to make any difference, fer pete's sake! "Makes a difference to this one," she says, throwing another back in. Blessings, Barbara |

Subject: The Hunger Site From: Mark Cohen Date: 04 Mar 00 - 12:12 AM This site has been referred to a couple of times in other threads, but I think it's worth calling to people's attention. The Hunger Site is a nonprofit website that sends a donation of staple food like wheat or rice to a hungry person, every time someone clicks the button -- with a limit of one click per person per day. The donation is handled through the United Nations Hunger Program and is paid for by companies who put their ads on the site. They don't ask you to register or provide any personal information at all, and you don't have to visit the sponsors' sites. I know there are a lot of bogus charities out there, but this one appears to be legit -- and easy to use. I invite you to check it out. Aloha, Mark |
