Subject: Trying again for an origin for this song From: Scabby Douglas Date: 06 Apr 00 - 04:28 AM The song is called Lion! - (I think).. And it starts: "Ever the since the day my dug(dog) ate Auntie Bella, I've been wonderin just what kind of dug I've got.." It was recorded by the Singing Kettle years ago, but they can't remember it... (sheesh.... to be so prolific that one forgets a song....) If anyone can point me at an author - It seems kind of Adam McNaughtonish - probably a Glasgow composer because of the rhymes - "got/coat/throat" and the reference to "Calderpark" which is where Glasgow Zoo is... Any help would be appreciated StevenC |
