Yes, I'm in Nashville, about 5 minutes from the airport. And like I said before, I have a really big yard. :)

As a matter of fact, I was in Gatlinburg (the gateway to the Smokies, as it's touted) back in May for my sister's wedding. Highs: The Smokies. Lows: driving through Pidgeon Forge to get there.

Louisville was the original site for the Grand Ole Opry, but city officials nixed the idea. Hindsight, as they say, is 20-20.

Nashville is supposed to be the friendliest city in the U.S.

Before I die, I'm going to take a tape of original songs downtown to all the record companies, just to say I did. I'll ring you up and buy you a drink to celebrate my impending "success."

Wish me luck...signed, "the soon-to-be next hot country hunk"

Actually Kim, this whole Mudcat adventure thing is a bit new to all of us. Like me, you live outside the larger groups of 'catters and are a good ways off the beaten path. Not that Tennessee is so far away or anything, its just that its not close for the NE crew, or DC, or that huge bunch in Toronto. Believe me, I know the feeling.

But I recall from your earlier postings that you live around/in Nashville....is that right? Its a great place and one a lot of 'Catters would enjoy. I lived in Hendersonville for several years and always loved the "feel" of Nashville. We lived out on the lake and had the poor distinction of being the house where the tour bus drivers turned around (past Twitty City, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash.....then 6 houses up to our drive). I always wanted to take one of those tours just to see if the guides said, "Absolutely NOBODY lives here."

I also lived for a few years in Chattanooga which in the past ten years has really beautified the downtown area. We visited the aquarium awhile back and spent some time enjoying the town again.

Due to a scheduling change with my sister-in-law over "Cousinfest 2000" we had to change our plans, as we had planned to be with Big Mick and Dave Swan in Michigan this weekend. Instead we're going to go to Atlanta to pick up the kids, but we are going to stay awhile at Norris Dam on the return. East Tennessee is lovely country and I have a real affinity for both Tennessee and Kentucky, having lived in both and gone to college at Berea.

All this is to say that as we get a bit more into these group gatherings and 'Catters meeting things, you may find some of us on your doorstep of at least only less than 200 miles away. Katlaughing has a son in Louisville and is trying to possibly see him in the Fall sometime. If this happens, I will be down there too and James and Mary in Ky also both live in the Louisville area. May not be Nashville, but its a pretty short drive for you!

Spaw
