Subject: RE: Tune Req: Big John McNeil - Chords From: Skipjack K8 Date: 23 Aug 00 - 10:53 AM PS Who was/is Big John McNeil? I always get under a tune better if I know what inspired it. There's a threads worth on its own! Skipjack |

Subject: Big John McNeil - Chords From: Skipjack K8 Date: 23 Aug 00 - 10:51 AM Thought I'd kick a thread off for the first time this quarter. I first heard Big John McNeil played as a session tune on Aly Bain's Trans Atlantic Sessions on the electric television, then done even better by 422, featuring the admirable Sam Pirt. I have found the tadpoles on a couple of fiddle sites, but no evidence of chords, and everyone plays it so durned fast, I just can't hear them in time. Anyone know 'em? Thanks Skipjack |
