Alex - regarding the Beatles...it's easy to say it, but hard to do it. I imagine they tried, anyway.

Kat - good thought. As the void is nothingness, which we can only imagine as an opposite to all the somethings...so evil is another nothingness that we have created in imagination as the opposite to good. And scarcity is a concept that we have created as the opposite to abundance, when actually abundance is right there all around us...if we weren't so afraid of scarcity...which causes us to hoard and not share...which results in scarcity where there could and should be abundance.

So there ya go. See it all over Amerika. Poverty at the feet of unbelievable wealth and self-indulgence, all the result of fear and its many children.

Fear is the opposite to love, and is also comparable to nothingness. It is based upon that which is not real, which is the opposite to that which is real.

And so it goes.

Quite a creative little drama, isn't it? Makes great Hollywood movies about good and evil.

Kat, when no one responds to my postings, I take that as the greatest compliment. I figure they are thinking thats all.
If you stop creating the weekend Thought For the Day, I will be thoroughly depressed and have to spend too much money discussing it in my psychiatrist's office.

Question: do we still want these TFTD threads on the w/ends? I miss Peter's on the weekdays and I DO enjoy posting the w/end ones, but I admit I am a little sensitive when there are no postings after a few hours. But, it's okay, you can tell me, I can take it, if'n ya don' wan' 'em, anymore sob, sob, just sayso and I'll pack my bags, turn in my keyboard, find a cottage in the woods with no electricity, no running water, dance with bears, lie in the sweetgrass, sing with the birds, HEY! this is sounding pretty good! Maybe I will see ya all later!!

Maybe the spirit of the void is included in man's knowledge. We just forgot that we know about this nothingness.
So if something comes along that we do not understand, it is bewildering. Forgetting that we know all about the spirit of nothingness is pretty bewildering too.

'Bewilderment' is right. I keep going over and over it!

I have a map from 1749 that shows the world as it was known at that time. The outlines of Europe and Asia and Africa were fairly well delineated and South America was surprisingly well known.

The North American continent was pretty chancy- it has California, for instance, cut through north and south by the 'Sea of Califoria'.

Alaska and points north is not there. It is marked 'Terra Incognita.' (See, I did come back to your theme, kat)

It occurs to me that the things that are unknown to us (the voids) may be extremely important, and that in time to come may be our very lifeblood.
