I'm trying to see if there has been any discussion in the forum about the resemblance between the tune Wayfaring Stranger and the melody for "Dear Companion" that was published in Olive Dame Campbell and Cecil J. Sharp, English Folksongs from the Southern Appalachians Song #58 (1917). First I want to verify whether the MIDI in the DT has the same melody as in Campbell & Sharp (1917). Snuffy's technique gets me through to the lyrics (thanks!), but unfortunately I still can't access the MIDI. Maybe one of the mirror sites has one ?

I just got in

• typed a request in the Digitrad Lyrics Search
• Got Connection Refused
• went into the address bar and changed shorty to loki and retried
• got the top of the lyrics search page with Connection Failure below it.
• Hit the Go button next to Supersearch
• Got my results OK

It's a pain in the ass way to do it, but it seems to work

I can't find a workaround this time round. The loki version !!-supersearch99.cfm doesn't seem to work. I geuss that is why Max has set it to explicitly ask for shorty rather than www.

The solution Suffy has given calls up a diferent version of the supersearch but the page NewSSResults.cfm does not appear to exist on Loki. The www URLs share the tasks between the 3 servers Loki,Ragtime and Shorty and loki is the only server that is running.

Unfortunately, I think Max has put the Supersearch only on Shorty.

Got a workaround though. From my copy of the DT:

Put your request in the Digitrad Lyrics Search box. When that page comes up, click on the Supersearch box there. That's worked for me a few times.

Another method is to try http://www.mudcat.org/@NewSSResults.cfm.

It seems that the servers which run the DT title search aren't working. This link:

doesn't work. When I supstitute "loki" for "shorty" I get a connection failure. Anyone know of a workaround ?
