Subject: RE: BS: Ode to Florida From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 11 Jan 01 - 08:05 PM Was it that he advocated that, when people kill cops, they ought to do it in public? Or was it that, sopeaking ibn public, he advocated that cops ought to be killed?
I suppose, if the former, you could say that, if people are going to kill cops it's better that they do it in poublic than in private, because that they are less likely to get away with it.
And if the latter, than presumably, since he'd said it in a public statement, that is what the people voting Republican in New Hampshire wanted. And it's always sounded such quiet respectable place...
But as for the forger, it sounds downright unfair, in the light of the way their man made it to the White House. But maybe it wasn't votes he was forging...
That capo problem sounds painful. I tend to use masking tape for anything like that. You can fix anything with masking tape. |

Subject: RE: BS: Ode to Florida From: kendall Date: 10 Jan 01 - 07:56 PM Did you all hear about the two bozos in New Hampshire? One advocated killing cops in public, the other ran under an alias because he was a convicted forger. (Both republicans) Both were elected. The cop killer resigned. The rubber thing on my capo ( a Shubb) has parted company with the brass thing that it was attached to. Any ideas how to re attach it? |

Subject: RE: BS: Ode to Florida From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 10 Jan 01 - 06:43 PM But did you see Salman Rushdie's take on it which I posted? How the Grinch stole America
But could I suggest that this time, if we get into arguing about elections, we try to do it by throwing verses at each other, in keeping with the way kenfdall started it?
And just to show that it isn't only in America that people can cheat their way into getting elected, here's a story from London Of course bending the result in a local council election isn't quite like manipulating the result of a Presidential election, but the principle is the same. (Except here we have a court opening things up rather than closing them down.) |

Subject: Ode to Florida From: kendall Date: 10 Jan 01 - 01:04 PM What could be horrida Than the state of Florida When in an election They were at each other's throats So, they stopped counting the votes And, even though more, voted for Gore For Bush it's a win Though his margin was thin So, it's Hail to the chief Even though he's a thief. A friend of mine is a fan of Ogden Nash, and he wants me to share this with you all |
