I would check with you local Musicians Union (if you are a member), if not I think they will still answer your question.

My son worked in Bars as a waiter/bus boy, the stipulation was that he was not allowed to serve alcoholic beverages, only food and soft drinks.

Willie-O, I remember those days as well, also that one glass had to be empty before they would serve or sling you another one.

Well, shades of Ontario The Good! Most pubs are open to all ages, anyway; the acid test is whether they serve enough food to be considered an eating and drinking establishment. The serious BAR places, I don't know why, but you would have to ask the LCBO.

FWIW, I think those are the places you want to play.

I remember the weird old days of liquor laws: no Sundays, you couldn't carry your glass of beer from one table to another (if you wanted to change tables, you were supposed to call the waiter to move your beer), separate entrances for "Ladies & Escorts" and "Men", sometimes to the same room.

Then, there's a lot I don't remember...

My youngest played his first bar in Canada when he was 14 years old. He's played several bars since then. He's playing at one in Barrie next Tuesday. He played his first legalize marijuana festival last summer. His second or third public performance, they played with I Mother Earth. The band has recorded 4 CDs already but they don't seem to sell many. He's still 15. I can't imagine that he would do anything illegal.

Hi! I am an underage musician from Canada. I heard that there is a way you can apply for a license that will enable you to be able to perform in pubs/bars/clubs, etc. Can anybody help me out? Is there a website with further information. Please post or email [e-mail]
