Subject: RE: REQ: Mother's casket, train From: Bill in Alabama Date: 16 Oct 97 - 10:53 AM Earl: My grandpa used to sing "The Baggage Coach Ahead," which generally fit the description you gave, except that I don't recall the narrator being a child. On the other hand, there's a great song about a child riding a train in an attempt to reach his dying mother at home, called "The Lightning Express." "Baggage Coach" is in the DT, and I'm pretty certain, now that I look at it, that it's the one mentioned to you. Bill Foster |

Subject: REQ: Mother's casket, train From: Earl Date: 16 Oct 97 - 12:20 AM I know this is pretty vague. Someone asked me about an old country song about a child riding alone on a train. When someone asks why he's alone, he explains that his mother is riding in a black draped casket in the back of the train. Does this ring any bells? |
