Subject: RE: UPDATE #2, MY NEW GUITAR, NOW BONED From: Liam's Brother Date: 05 Mar 01 - 10:22 PM Confession is good for the mind and soul, wydat12. However, it is Lent and Fr. Catspaw is likely to give a heavy penance. It would have been better to come clean a week ago.
All the best,

Subject: RE: UPDATE #2, MY NEW GUITAR, NOW BONED From: wdyat12 Date: 05 Mar 01 - 10:11 PM I had my Epiphone Texan boned years ago because I had worn the first seven frets down to the bone. I also had the torsion bar tweeked and the nut and bridge replaced. It made all the difference in the world for pure tone and ease of playing. Did I do a bad thing? wdyat12 |

Subject: UPDATE #2, MY NEW GUITAR, NOW BONED From: jeepman (inactive) Date: 05 Mar 01 - 08:53 PM If you read the first update, you know that I bought a new D15 Martin which I like, but felt it needed some tweaking. I took it to a highly recomended repair man and had it boned. Installed hand made bone nut and overlay, re-set neck to raise the action just a smidge, file down and smooth some high frets, new strings. My little brown guitar now barks and booms like a D18. It really made a great improvement and I couldn't be more pleased. The things he did let the real Martin sound come out. Sad you can't get that from the factory any more. Thanks, Jeepman |
