Subject: RE: BS: Jingle Bells From: Snuffy Date: 29 May 01 - 08:11 PM Don't need to cheer up, Gervase. We don't give a hoot whether we're loved or insulted. We just ARE. You might as well try to slag off a lake to see if you can upset it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Jingle Bells From: Burke Date: 29 May 01 - 12:46 PM Kim, Here's one information page I found by searching Morris dancing at Yahoo. Morris Dancing It's usually six guys dressed in funny clothes dancing in lines of 3 facing each other. They wear bells on thier shins and wave handkerchiefs or sticks when dancing. It's very, very old. It's very athletic & women do it now days as well. |
Subject: RE: BS: Jingle Bells From: Kim C Date: 29 May 01 - 12:36 PM Everybody talks about Morris dancing, but nobody does anything about it.... Seriously, though, I hear people talking about this and I still know NOTHING about it. Even a little Net surfing really didn't tell me much. So what's it all about? |
Subject: RE: BS: Jingle Bells From: Gervase Date: 29 May 01 - 11:20 AM Cheer up Snuffy - after all, God was kind enough to invent line dancers so morris dancers could finally have someone to insult! |
Subject: RE: BS: Jingle Bells From: Snuffy Date: 29 May 01 - 08:40 AM If you're not allowed to make insensitive, hurtful and malicious remarks about blacks, Jews, Irish, Poles, gays, etc, what does that leave you? Just Morris Dancers and the English. And with us English morris dancers you get a "toofer". So fire away - as was stated above, it's all water off a duck's back. Wassail! V |
Subject: RE: BS: Jingle Bells From: RichM Date: 28 May 01 - 04:34 PM As a Canadian, I am mystified about the term "morris dancer". Why do people heap abuse on them? Rich |

Subject: RE: BS: Jingle Bells From: GUEST,JohnB Date: 25 May 01 - 12:54 PM Apology accepted. There is one thing though, Morris Dancers never really notice when someone is being bitchy, water off a Ducks back and all. |
