Subject: RE: Tempest (Celtic Rock) performs in MA! From: Pinetop Slim Date: 25 Jul 01 - 05:27 PM Peg: If you e-mail a few paragraphs about Tempest and the performance at Blackthorne -- some background, time of the show, cover charge if applicable -- to opinion@thesunchronicle.com, I'll try to get something into the newspaper. We circulate in a few towns near Easton. |

We (Eammons Kitchen) played with them at NTIF this year, and they play the Emerald Mist (also one of our favorite venues) when their in Dallas. Nice guys, very talented players. I enjoyed their show. I hope things go well for them - and good luck with "gettin' the word out!" |

I saw them a few years agao and am thrilled they are returning to the area. The lead singer, Leif Sorbye, is Norwegian and does some great folk-derived songs and dances. He is also a total babe! They contributed a song to a cover CD of Jethro Tull songs a few years back... I am helping the band get some publicity locally so he sent me a press kit with their lovely photos! No shows in Boston proper, alas. I last saw tham at the Tam in Brookline and sadly the show was not well-attended (which is weird because they have a large local fan base). But they play Saturday August 11th at the Bad Abbott in Quincy, and Sunday August 12th at the Blackthorne Tavern in Easton, MA. I plan to at least attend the Quincy show. Anyone interested?
