Subject: Lyr Add: BUSY DOING NOTHING (Burke, Van Heusen) From: Jim Dixon Date: 01 Mar 02 - 10:53 PM BUSY DOING NOTHING (Words, Johnny Burke. Music, James Van Heusen)
CHO: We're busy doing nothing, working the whole day through,
I have to watch the river, to see that it doesn't stop,
I have to wake the sun up. He's liable to sleep all day.
I have to meet a turtle. I'm teaching him how to swim. (The chorus, and each repetition of it, is preceded by a long string of la-la-las.) [Sung by Bing Crosby, William Bendix, and Cedric Hardwicke in the film, "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," 1949.] |

Subject: Busy doing Nothing From: Puflet Date: 02 Aug 01 - 04:34 PM Does anyone know the words to 'Busy Doing Nothing?' I know the first verse, which goes something along the lines of: We're busy doing nothing Working the whole day through Trying to find Lots of things not to do We're busy going nowhere Isn't it just a crime We'd like to be Unhappy But we never do have the time. If anyone knows how this lyrical gem continues, please let me know. |
