Subject: RE: Background Information on Songs From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca Date: 22 Oct 01 - 07:18 PM Thanks for that one, Noreen. I've added it to the Origins of: Found on Mudcat Thread. BFP, have a look at some of the threads where we've discussed the origins/backgrounds of a number of songs. I found a lot of people were asking for this sort of information, so I started putting a number of them together into on central thread. |

As masato mentioned above, the Digitrad and Forum Search on the main forum page is worth trying, for background on any songs- just type relevant words into the search box. I did that and came up with this thread Lyr Req: Bile Dem Cabbage Down (click here) which has some history and discussion on the song. If you have any problems searching for the others, come back here and we'll help further. Noreen |

Subject: Background Information on Songs From: GUEST,BFP Date: 22 Oct 01 - 09:38 AM One thing that has always intriged me during live performance is the artist giving background information on a song that is about to be performed. I like old time music and would like to research some background on songs I play. Some examples would be: Bile Them Cabbage Down, Wildwood Flower, This Little Light of Mine, etc. Are there sources where one can get this information? Many Thanks |
