Subject: RE: Confidence From: Auxiris Date: 17 Dec 01 - 12:48 PM I must admit, I didn't put the "story" prefix on this time 'cause I had the impression that people were avoiding posts that said that. I really ought to, though, for those who are interested. Thanks, Skipjack; another good laugh! cheers, Aux

Subject: Story: Confidence From: wysiwyg Date: 17 Dec 01 - 11:24 AM Aux, this is great! Jerry, if you do a Mudcat Usersearch on Auxiris' posts you will find more stories. Sometimes the thread title or subject line includes the word "STORY", also, and this is another way to find them. ~Susan |

Subject: RE: Confidence From: Skipjack K8 Date: 17 Dec 01 - 10:14 AM True story. Philip Hunloke was KG5s sailing master, on the finest yacht ever built, Brittania. The King was at the helm, and a nasty close-quarters situation was developing. Hunloke was at his elbow, and urged "Steer to port, Sir!". When the King did the opposite, he hurriedly said "The other port, Sir!" Skipjack |

Subject: RE: Confidence From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 17 Dec 01 - 06:54 AM What a great joke: I don't know where this joke is going, but I'll add one of similar nature. A man was out walking in the woods one day. He was marveling at the beauty of the trees, and the small, rippling stream that was flowing next to him. As he walked along, he suddenly came upon a large bear. He started backing away slowly, and thebear started coming toward him. The faster he backed away, the faster the bear came until he turned around and ran. As he looked over his shoulder, he could se the bear gaining on him, and suddenly he tripped over a tree root and fell flat on his face. As he rolled over, he saw the bear standing on its hind legs with one paw raised above its head, ready to strike him. The man said, "Lord, I know that I've never tried to serve you, but if you spare me, I'll be a loyal Christian for the rest of my life." As he spoke, the woods became quiet, the stream ceassed to flow and the bear's paw was supsended in space. The Lord answered, "I can't really make you a Christian, but I'll make the bear one." With that, the stream began to flow, the forest sprung to life, and the bear lowered his paw. The bear sank to his knees, brought his two paws together in prayer, looked up at the Lord and said, "Father, bless this food that I am about to eat." Jerry |

Subject: Confidence From: Auxiris Date: 17 Dec 01 - 06:45 AM Once upon a time, there was a man who made his fortune through much hard work. Satisfied with himself for having succeeded in doing so, decided to offer himself a holiday for the first time in his life at a ski resort and even thought he'd learn how to ski.
Unexperienced and clumsy, he went off the ski trail and fell into a ravine. By some miracle, as he fell he managed to grab onto a small bush growing between the rocks. Below him he saw haw far it was to the ground and knew that if he fell he'd surely be crushed to death. His hands gripped the bush, but he knew that he wouldn't have the strength to hold on much longer. The bush began to crack and its roots began to pull loose. . .
At the height of his anguish, the man cried, "Is anyone there? Is anyone there??"
"I am here, my son," replied a solemn voice. "Have no fear and let go of the bush. My angels will catch you and place you gently on the ground."
The man thought for a moment before crying, "Is there anyone else?" cheers,
Aux
