Thanks Masato ..... thats about all I came up with which I found surprising.
I was really hoping that someone could give me more background on the song and its composer.
EG.... What nationality was Simper?
.......Where and by whom was the carol published?
There must be more info out there although obviously not on the net.

The words and music (CLICK ON "tenderly.bmp") are HERE. On the sheet, the composer's name is Caleb Simper. "Caleb Simper (1857-1942) was for many years amongst the most performed of living composers by virtue of his anthems and services, which were 'sung throughout the civilised world'" (quoted from HERE).

When I went looking, I didn't even find that hymn--just several others with the same titles.

A friend sings this carol and has asked me to find out some information about it
I've searched the web and discovered that it may have Congregational/Baptist Church origins and may have been written or set to music by Caleb Simper
Can anyone give any more info???
