If one searches on google there is plenty of info. I agree, though, this would be seen as much more legitimate if the poster had been more forthcoming. Looks like spam otherwise.

Hi all,

I'm tolk you folks are willing to trimuph the causes of the unjustly oppressed and misfortunate from our fair isle so I come pleading for your kind support.

I'm not sure how many of you were interested in or have been following my friend Richard's case but this seems brilliantly good news. Now that we have come this far we don't want to lose out on the last hurdle so please read Terry's (Richard's father's) words etc below and if you would like to support his petition please do so ASAP. Take care all and mind how you go!!!

PS - I know quite a large number of you have been following this tragic case of injustice over the past couple of years but I can't remember exactly which of you so please accept my apologies if you haven't been or if you do not wish to help. Thanks for all the support re Richard

I'm going out to Bahrain Thursday to add my sixpence to it all. It's all drawing to a close now.

After two years in prison, they have accepted and ruled and publicly acknowledged that Richard was acting in self defence, and sent it back to the Court of Appeal for a new verdict.

I'm not sure what that Court will rule but it seems as thought they may be trying to maintain some sort of sentence saying Richard should have escaped.

I will be arguing that he was in his own home. He had a Legal Bahrain resident's permit, which is more than Mr Emmon's had as you will see from the attached.

Any way, I've got a petition drafted up if you feel that you want to express your view that Richard should be totally acquitted to the Ambassador in London, (who by the way is broadly sympathetic to Richard's situation)

Re: Richard Mechan

I have read the details and the evidence for both prosecution and defence in the case of Richard Mechan and I am pleased that the Court of Cassation in Bahrain has interceded and ordered that a new verdict based on the grounds of self defence is returned.

However I am concerned that the Court did not seems take into account the fact that Richard was legally in his own home in Bahrain when he defended his life.
