Here are two sites you might look at. I have them listed on my main lyrics sites page.

East Coast Songbook
East Coast Music Online
Frank White's Songs of Newfoundland & Labrador
My own set of English Song Lyrics
My Lyric Links Page - Nearly all work

As usual, Web-sites go down daily. Try them all out.

No, for the traditional in English, Mudcat is still by far the best. I have a number of Cape Breton and Nova Scotia popular songs there. However, I have never made a complete list of them. I DO have a place for you to go to, though. Let me look them up.

Traditional in English. Should I just go to your website, George? I'll check it out again.

There are literally tons of Cape Breton songs, as well as Cape Breton tunes. One of my favourites tunes is "Beautiful Point Aconi". And in the song category, one song in English is "Song For the Mira". In Gaelic, one contender would be "Duanag Do Mhabu". I have listings for several hundred Gaelic songs, and probably twice many in English. Also, there would be lots in French and native Mi'k Ma'q.

So, what sorts of songs are you after? Oh, in the English song category, do you want Jazz, Country, Traditional, or other?

I'm glad to see another new Cape Breton thread. I was about to search the forum for old threads on any songs from Cape Breton. The fiddle tunes have spread around the world... can anyone give me a list of Cape Breton songs?

There's a lovely article, a reminiscence, of fiddling and dances on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, by Willie Kennedy, here. Just another of the treasures in the Musical Traditions site, which I can't recommend enough (and do frequently!).
