I finally got this to play in an abc reader. Nope, this is not the tune I'm looking for. It did not sound even vaguely familiar. Still looking for the Joe I used to know. Al

Thanks, folks. I haven't yet figured out from the notation how this tune goes. Musical notation has become somewhat of a lost art for me. I must leave town on business for a week, but when I get back, I may try to find software that can decode abc into midi so I can hear it. Then I'll be able to tell if I recognize it. I appreciate your help. Al

I found an abc format for "Farel O'Gara's Favorite" at the ABC World Wide Index. If you have an abc program it will translate it automatically. If you don't, you can e mail me and I will send you the sheet music transcript. E mail is wise@communicom.com

Many years ago I knew a fiddle tune by this name. Not sure of the spelling. It was my favorite tune for years. Now I can't remember it. Does anyone know it? Thanks, Al
